Free Riverside Trolley Service Tuesday March 15th

JTA is trying some programs in March, April and May to guage ridership interest in the service. Take advantage so that we can continue this important service in our neighborhood!

I get the pun with the date, but why Tuesday? Friday's the trolley is jammed with people going to lunch. Maybe Tuesday is the lightest ridership day.

Tomorrow, introduce yourself to the Riverside Trolley... its free all day Tuesday!!!

Try heading to work via the free trolley. Office workers downtown, ride into Riverside/Avondale for free at lunch. Office workers in Brooklyn, you have your choice of downtown or Riverside/Avondale lunch options. Head on over to Pecha Kucha tomorrow by way of the trolley in the afternoon. The weather will be perfect!

I believe that it is. I have noticed that Tuesday is a very light business lunch day.

I wonder if JTA would consider doing something similar with the Skyway? How about free rides on Friday nights when the Suns play? And then have the trolley going from Central Station to the ballfield. It would be a great view of the fireworks too.

I am glad to see JTA engaging the community with this type of PR.

JTA has been out publicizing the Riverside Trolley and the FREE day most of the month. They were at Publix last Friday. the Shoppes of Avondale today. A few other places too. It would be great for the service if the trolleys are full Tuesday. I think that would go a long way into extending hours, developing similar services in other areas, etc.

Interesting PR hook... the "Rides" of March. Wonder how many actually get it?

Just rode the trolley from Five Points to St. Vincents, visited, lunched and rode back. 2 block walk home. Great service.

It was jammed at noon going thru Five Points.

Coming back around 1:00 there were only 2 people plus myself going toward Five Points but then more got on in Five Points for the ride toward town.

The new route toward FSCJ at Roosevelt still does not have the ridership. My feeling is that with a little advertising at the college, in Avondale, and around the hospital/doctor's offices rides would pick up. Especially with gas and parking getting difficult.

I rode it six times. As with Saturday(where they used the Bay Street trolley buses with broken fare boxes), they did not track ridership. Which is ashame.

I can tell you, ridership was good on the 6 PCT busses I was personally on. And the comments from riders echoes everything we've been saying here about modifying, expanding and promoting the system in a more effective way.
