Who steals windchimes?!

OK, I gotta vent--I live on College St. close (maybe too close?) to the King St. district; last night around 1 in the morning, I was woken up when some drunken jackass climbed up on top of my 6' stockade fence (breaking off the top of one of the pickets in the process) and grabbed some windchimes hanging off a corner rafter over the back deck.  They left before I could get outside, taking the chimes and leaving a muddy foot print on the side of my house and an empty beer can on the ground.

My question: what the hell is wrong with some people and who the hell steals windchimes?  Windchimes?!

Alright, rant over, thanks for listening--I feel better now but also really old (Hey youse kids, get offa my damn lawn!)

That sucks.  I'm sorry to hear that.  People do leave King Street pretty rowdy sometimes.  The Loft does a huge indie night on Thursday, so I suspect it was someone leaving there.  You may want to tell Scott McAllister.

I can't speak for college street, but I know a few rascals who have left their mark on Post.

I'm glad it's quiet over where I am. I'm avoiding the area as a whole because the "king street district" is starting to attract the "hey bros, watch this" popped-collar-college-douchebag types. And there's not really any parking besides off street. So they file out of the place and stumble down the street and "hey, I dare you to steal that windchime!"

Thanks Cap and Loki.
Yeah, I'm sure it was probably some d-bag from outside of the neighborhood who had one too many at the Loft or Kickbacks.  It was a minor thing, but it still pretty much sucks.
Scott M. is a good guy--we spoke with him last night and he said he's had some problems with theft outside his places recently too, so keep your stuff bolted down on Thursday nights!

Last Friday I witnessed the staff at The Loft putting a guy in the back of a cop car for behaving very badly.  They do a great job at the Loft and Rogue, but they've started to attract some of the people you talked about.  While it is a great thing to have outsiders recognize the quality establishments in our neighborhood, they do need to respect that we live here.  I feel for you.  I've seen plenty of beer cans lining the lawns along Post street.

You can maybe see it as growing pains for the city....?  We're finally pulling people away from Whiskey River and into a decent bar, but with that comes their antics in a residential neighborhood.  Maybe after a couple weeks of getting arrested and being ignored by girls they'll realize you can't act like that in Riverside.

I also have started noticing the douchebaggy fratboys with popsicle-colored polo shirts and baseball caps starting to mix in with the regular crowd at Kickbacks and Loft. They're not hard to spot, generally the loudest drunkest people in the room. I guess we have to take our lumps with the positives, I'd rather put up with the occasional obnoxious idiot than go back to how that area was before it developed.

Could've been someone very close - maybe they were too noisy.

Quit talking about me, Chris.

Probably the same morons that stole gnomes off of our porch on Herschel.  Really!?  Gnomes and windchimes?

My wife thought maybe it was a lead-up to the Gnomeo & Juliet premiere and we would be receiving ransom notes very soon.

next time just come out with your shotgun and pump it!

Sounds like somebody is building quite the garden.  I actually had a garden gnome stolen out of my old apt that is accessible only by private elevator.

Way to build your street cred there muchacho--what a bad ass!
Sorry to hear about your gnomes flforester--hopefully they're just traveling the world and will be returned soon.
