Looks like we are getting closer!

I noticed over the weekend that the signs went up which makes me think we are getting closer to opening! And it looks like a price is listed, looks very reasonable too.  I look forward to keeping my money in the neighborhood.

Based on how my car looks I'll be first in line.

Let's just hope there isn't another last-minute underhanded sandbagging of all Mr. Jones' hard work by a barrage of dozens of bogus code complaints being called in on his opening day, like what happened last time. He was already sandbagged once, and SPAR closed him down and came up with a lengthy list of artificial requirements, which by all appearances Mr. Jones is meeting.

SPAR even threw a hissy fit midway through the current renovation project, and demanded that he repaint the entire building twice because they didn't like his first color choice, notwithstanding the fact that I counted and photographed about a dozen historic properties, including SPAR-approved SRG homes, within a few blocks of the carwash that are painted the same color.

I truly want to see this project succeed, and let's all cross our fingers that certain people can put their bitterness and petty B.S. aside and support this project for the good and economic recovery of the neighborhood.

Ha!  Did you see the LSU "themed" house on W 8th!

I was thinking LA Lakers.  There is a similar one on 5th between Siver and Pearl.

Even you put your money in the neighborhood, then where does the owner of that car wash is going to buy supplies and tools? Products from China or other foreign countries regardlessly.

and your point?  no, springfield isn't 100% self-sufficient.  no neighbourhood or even country is.  that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep things as local as we can.

Living in Jacksonville is like living in the province back home... so much potential for growth. not enough gitter done!

Prax_N_Jax, nope not the same place. 8th & Silver is the newly painted "LSU house". The Sweet Pete's shoppe is on Pearl between 9th & 10th.

I love it!  I think it really brightens up that dismal expanse.

OK, now I have to go see the LSU house.  There's an FSU house right around there too...gold with garnet trim.

I think it is awesome (if maybe a little tacky) that so many people in the neighborhood are so expressive with their paint! We have the Seminole's, LSU, John Deere, and sherbet houses (in some case duplicates!), we have quite a few pink and lavendar homes, and we have some very carribean homes. How boring would it be if everything was baby poop brown? LOL. Sheclown we should start a thread of this unique homes and businesses!
