fyi, 325 Bay St isn't going to be a restaurant.  also, it'll be at least a year before anything happens construction-wise.  might as well take it off the updates.

Yep, NOTHING on earth more ugly then streetcar wires and poles. This is the brand new streetcar line in Albquerque, NM. As you can see, done right, there is nothing to get excited about.

It looks like 20 West (Lerner Shops Building) is going to get back started up again.

QuoteJEDC to adjust grants for Adams St. project

Plans to renovate a 98-year-old building on Adams Street into a modern multi-use project have been a lot more difficult than The Kimmik Corp. originally anticipated, both structurally and financially, so the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission is proposing to stretch out the disbursement of a grant the company has already received to help keep the project moving.

Since receiving $400,000 from the city’s Historic Preservation Trust Fund Grant payable after the completion of the entire project at 20 W. Adams St., the developer has spent about $3.2 million on some unforeseen and extensive structural improvements that included underpinning columns to ensure stability and rebuilding stairwells and elevator shafts to meet modern fire and safety codes. In the meantime, said Marion Graham, general manager for the developer, a local bank rescinded its financing of the project.

The work is about 50-60 percent complete, and the developer has secured a commitment from a private investor to finish about $1.5 million worth of work on the first and second floors totaling more than 11,500 square feet that will be used for retail and office space, plus the exterior of the building.

I was tooling around downtown yesterday and was suprised to see the courthouse going vertical.  Seems like all of LaVilla is consumed by that construction site.

Also, the "passive" pocket park that's taking the place of the closed connector road between Water and Bay is under construction as well.

The original plans for 925 King St. was to be a wine bar to compliment La Bella Sera. However, the wine bar was opened a few doors down at Walkers(the same owner). I don't know if he plans on moving it once the building is finished or just finding another use for it.

Thanks, that's a nice update.  I'm sure a lot of people will be happy to see Main completed.

I'm thinking that the new courthouse may be having a different footprint than the one we might have saw on the diagrams.
