The latest venture at the old Amsterdam Sky location next to the Arena appears to be Jacksonville Sports Pub.  It's listed on the Jaguars rewards website but nowhere else that I can find.  Anyone have any info on this?

they've been open for about 6 months....but only when there's an event at the sports complex

Is there any way to find out in advance if they will be open?  Googling them didn't come up with a website.

If there's an event at the stadium, baseball grounds, or arena, they will be open

Interesting business plan. I'm sure it helps lower costs, but that has to be tough on employees to have such inconsistent schedules.

I was at the Suns game Monday.  12:05pm first pitch.  They didn't appear to be open so I guess it's any nighttime event.

Drove by there today and they have a sign in the widow that reads City Hall Pub.  I just googled it: bupkus.  Anyone got info?

I just received this email from Von Barlow (if you haven't heard him, you gotta):
"There is a  new jazz club having their first jazz lunch this Friday Aug 21. City Hall Pub 234 A Philip Randolph Blvd (near the baseball park and Memorial Coliseum) We play from 11am-2pm..... Please support this new venue".
Thanks, see you Friday,...     Von Barlow

"It will be open from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. and Sholes is surveying customers to see if they would like the restaurant to be open for breakfast."

Thanks for the link, 02roadking.  I'll definitely be checking it out.

Went by City Hall Pub last night for a bite and beverage about 5:30. Spinach dip with the toasted pita chips was very good. We also sampled the wings. Multiple flavor combos with different degrees of wing sauce were offered. I chose the blackened wings with the hot on the side. While not the traditional blackened food I'm used to, these wings, to me, were the perfect flavor by themselves, good heat flavor, no sauce needed. Ask about HH prices prior to ordering. Wells & draft have HH prices only, but Appetizers are 1/2 price. Good food, ok service. A work in progress, but I'll definantly go again.

Had a few beers and some cheese fries before Jags game this past Saturday. It was an ok spot. Its a really nice bar, but not enough going on down there to sustain it. We will see how this one turns out. That place has been a revolving door of bars.

good for Ron, he's a good guy.  will definitely give it a go.  that whole area could be a entertainment zone, no active churches around, no residential too close, could open up a late night party area like they did in Miami in Overtown.
