Pretty nice design. Hope we all get to see them soon.

How will the Main Street pocket park be designated?

So far this is just a plan....I'm not sure that the money for implementation has been secured yet

Is it just me, or did King Engineering overlook numerous "Vehicular Access" points to Downtown from the Northside -- Pearl, Laura, Hubbard/Newnan, Market, Liberty Streets? Oh wait, I forgot the "powers that be" have always wanted to limit access to Downtown from the Northside communities...

Its just a preliminary study....I will asume that, like other cities, these signs will be implemented in phases....and they'll add signs to/from otrher areas over time as necessary.

The most obvious overlooked "access" is the U.S. AND State four lane highway that fully interchanges with I-95 and serves as the only detour/alternate route to I-10, that ye old step-child of yore, Beaver Street.  When is this city going to recognize that Beaver is to East-West, what Main is to North-South?!

Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

I just got back from Atlanta and found their wayfinding signage extremely helpful. Me and some friends ended up going to the beautiful botancal gardens which we would've never even known existed had we not been out for a walk and found it was close to where we were staying...thanks to a streetside map.

It's a good start to something long overdue. My only concern is that I hope the city is able to pull one clear design together across the different means of communicating directions and locations. This has not been the case in past feeble attempts.

This is wonderful news!  Are you all familiar with the purple signs that hang off of traffic light poles throughout downtown that are supposed to direct people to certain attractions (like us and the TU Center for Performing Arts)?  Well - they are so faded by the sun (look at the intersection of Bay and Main St. (just over the bridge heading north) and you'll see what I mean.  You can't even read what some of them say anymore.
So this is awesome work!!!  How nice this will be!
