Jury Duty

I've got a question about jury duty. My husband has jury duty and it says he HAS to wear a jacket and tie. He was going to wear dress paints and a polo(what he normally wears to work). Clay just says normal business attire.

What does someone wear to jury duty in Duval? Does it matter?

If the summons says "coat and tie" - I would recommend "coat and tie".  Not sure what they do if you show up "inappropriately dressed" though.

Be sure to use the jury parking near the stadium - it's on the east side, near the WJCT entrance.

That was my concern. With temps in the high 90's(even with the shuttle) it seem ridiculous to have people walking around in a jacket and tie. Also what if you don't have either? Seems like your limiting jurors to those who can afford a jacket and tie.

Those summons usually come at least a couple weeks in advance, you could call the Clerk of the Court and ask.

Unless he has to report in the morning.

Almost no one wears a shirt and tie. I went back in 11/07. I had to work the night before so I'd be damned if I was going to go home and get re-dressed for it so I went in my work clothes.

Also the thing about the "absolutely no electronics" was crap too. I was a good boy and left my zune and ds in the car and every other person there had their ipods and cellphones.

Wasn't all bad though, I did find my fiance there.

Was she the defendant, or an attorney?  ;)

[just kidding, killingwax, so don't become killingcharles!]

Hah, if she was the defendant, that'd make an even better story. But no, she was another juror. I got pegged for grand jury tryouts, thank god I dodged that ball.
