Case in point, a Nashville transit blog jealously touts Jacksonville's mass transit plans:

Despite its similarities, Jacksonville is starting to pull way ahead of Nashville in terms of mass transit.

So, in short, Jacksonville seems to be putting a lot more emphasis on developing mass transit opportunities than does Nashville.

Full of misconceptions of the facts and misinterpretations of what is good and whats not, this article does prove one thing...that the grass is always greener on the other side.

Its nice to see a different perspective from another community.  Although its struggling, outside of Nashville finding a way to build the country's cheapest commuter rail line ($41 million for 32 mile system), he may be right.  We do have a number of plans and ideas on the table.  Our challenge is to get these things off the drawing board and properly integrated into the community.

Wow. Glad to see somebody thinks Jacksonville is doing something right. Now if we could just pull all this off we would be set. They didn't mention the streetcar study JTA did. He had to get his titan plug in there, though.

Very nice find!  It is refreshing to see an outside opinion on the subject.  We tend to have a pessimistic view of our own little world because we're privy to all of the gritty details, but from that perspective I'd have to agree that at least there is some movement in the right direction.  All we have to do is make sure that movement is fiscal, feasible, and to our best benefit in the long and short term.
