9a is my backyard

I was just curious - since the T-U updated Jacksonville.com and added the "First Coast Sites" section, has there been any noticeable increase in readers?

Jason

We're getting about 2-5 new members each day, on average.  It seems that things have been picking up lately, however, the number of active participants in the discussions seems to be growing less rapidly.

David

Very true.

On slow days at work I’ve noticed 4-5 hours can go by before anyone comments on a story or a thread. You want more discussions of course, but you don't want MJ to become too big. If it does it could turn into the jacksonville.com comments section. And we all know how enlightening of a read that can be.

I could not agree more David.  I have been on here for a while but have few posts because often times I don't feel I have anything constructive to add.  It is always nice to read and become informed about certain things, but often times it is not appropriate for me to comment.  I pray that new members stick to commenting or asking questions when appropriate, and I think it will.  The caliber of person I have observed on this site is head and shoulders above the brain donors who post on the T-U.  Comments on that site will make you question your faith in humanity.  Their vote counts the same as ours, so that's pretty cool, right?

:D :D :D
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Sed quis custodiet ipsos cutodes (Who watches the watchmen?)

David

Yeah what's all this agreeing business? Let's call each other names and spout off pre-packaged political rants like a normal message board.

Bewler

Conformulate. Be conformulatable! It's a perfectly cromulent deed.

Jason

Do we need a "Flaming" board or thread so that we can all vent our random insults and rants at will?

:)

We can make it a paid section of the board visible only to those that pay!  :)
