Squidz Burger and Grill? Brontosaurus Pizza and Wings? Frozen Yeti Seafood?
Conformulate. Be conformulatable! It's a perfectly cromulent deed.

Whatever it is, let it be sushi...

Bewler

Hell yeah Joe, crossing the fingers on that!

Sushi... the starbucks of food.

That gives me an idea....

Sushi flavored coffee joints!

Grind up some salmon, tuna, california rolls, dump in a shot of expresso and bada bing, there you have it! Two favorites in one.

Sushi is expensive and overrated. So yes, it is like Starbucks. :D

Yeah, I dunno what's up with that man, but you're right. And it happened all in the last 8 or 9 years. Back before the late 90's there weren't a lot of sushi places around, but at the ones that were around, you could have a nice dinner for 2 for $40-$45 or so.

Then the sushi explosion hit circa early 2000s, and overnight it seemed like half the restaurants in any given town were sushi joints. You'd think this would have brought the prices down, but it's actually been the opposite, they've gone WAY UP. Now it's like $90 to get dinner for 2, at least at a decent place. WTF?

No mystery to it all, the vendors found out that people are willing to pay a lot of money for a trendy item. Happens all the time, look at starbucks perfect example.   If you don't want to pay the price don't eat raw fish, simple as that.

That's a silly bifurcation. I do eat it, and I do pay the price, but it still annoys me because I was a sushi hound way back before it was trendy and the market oversaturated, and I know full well there's no reason for the prices. I think they all collude with one another, so that they are all the same price. There's no way otherwise that every sushi place would be so close to every other one on pricing.

I swear, if someone opened up a sushi place that wasn't outrageous, it would be very popular. Not that we really need another sushi place, but still.
