The name has not been specified but the family that owns La Napolera will open a restaurant at the Landing.

Quote• The restaurant space at the Landing formerly occupied by Dona Maria’s Mexican restaurant will reopen Feb. 1 with new owners and similar cuisine. The family that operates the La Napolera chain of local Latin eateries is setting up shop. No word yet on the name.

It's really great that a small local business is expanding in the current economic conditions and pleasantly surprising to me that they would do so at the Landing.  I guess it helps that people are already accustomed to a Latin restaurant at that location.

Quote• The Mexican restaurant that’s moving into the former Dona Maria’s location at the Landing is still on schedule to open this month. It will be called “Cinco de Mayo” and is owned and managed by the family that operates the local La Napolera chain.

For the record, I think it is La Nopalera.

Good for them!  It'd be nice to have a local establishment represented at the Landing.  Especially one that has such a following as it does.  La Nop is phen-om! :)

Call it La Nopalera and it's almost impossible to fail.  La Nop is the sh!t. :D  Yum!

The Nop is good and cheap. That's why we go there a lot.

I wonder why they aren't using the La Nop name? Could be some of the family branching off.

Maybe it will be a bit more upscale brand?

I hope they put out a good product and help draw people to the Landing. The more restaurants and bars at the Landing, the better.

I was at La Nop last night and met one of the guys who owns Cinco de Mayo's and he said it would be all the same menu items and food as all of the other La Nops, just with a different name. I'm sure they will do great at lunch time and he said they want to make it a big happy hour spot for people after work. They also said they are opening another new La Nop on Roosevelt between San Juan and St. Johns, across the street from the Blockbuster.

I walked by the new location at the Landing today and it was open

Will they have a walk up order counter?

Visited for lunch last week. The food was good. Nice views outside and a spinning class going on upstairs outside at Gold's. It was a great day to have lunch at the Landing.
