TSI Karaoke is Kooky Fun on Tuesday Nights.

In an environment where one after another cool environment is closing due to the economy and the natural business cycle, there are fewer and fewer genuinely fun places to hang out during the week.

Tuesday Night at TSI is pretty damned fun.  For me, its right after the metrojacksonville open meeting and me and Ocklawaha usually end up at the cool little club on Bay Street across from the Courthouse.

The Karaoke is pretty amazing, and about the most mixed night you can imagine.

There are all kinds of people singing in the otherwise hipster club, and the atmosphere is smart campy and beer soaked.

It helps that there are so many brilliant vocalists without a job in this city, the Karaoke is often concert quality, and TSI's is no exception.

Anyways, this is one of my favorite nights to hang out, have a drink or two and hang out loserlike and just enjoying the cheap entertainment.

What a great place.

Sounds fun. What type of songs do most of the people sing there? I know that’s a pretty general question but could you name a few? I’m just curious because at most karaoke places I've been to it's always the usual, "popular ballad", "country song snore fest", "haha I remember that 80's song!", or "over played radio hit".

I suspect that the TSI crowd might bring something more unique to the table.
Conformulate. Be conformulatable! It's a perfectly cromulent deed.

Good question!!  I somehow cannot imagine the TSI crowd belting out John Denver hits... :D
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

How's the crowd?  BTW when & where's the "open" metrojacksonville meeting?

I just may do that - thanks.  It'd be cool to put faces with avatars & aliases.  It's funny how this site has become so much a part of my daily motions - I suppose the reality check is the Total time logged in feature......

I think I'd actually like to sing there one of these nights. but its been everything from what sounds like the American idol should-have-been's to the AFLAC duck being stepped on. Its fun.

Next time I'm in town, I'll have to stop by there on a tuesday night and check it out; being that I'm a musician, I'll have to see who the Kara stars are.
