Any word on either of their status? I know it was talked about that Nicky G's would open late this month, but I'm guessing that's not going to happen.

Neither has opened, but Nicky G's does have a new sign up on the building.

Yes, a sign is up. Peeked in the windows Sunday. They had coolers and stuff inside, but not installed. Big TV's were up over the bar area. LOTS of clean up work to do. The place does look good. Way farther along than Fudd's at the Landing....LOL   ;D

Metropolis looks the same as a few weeks ago, from outside anyway.
Springfield since 1998

Too bad they could not have been open for this weekend's game.  There will be a record breaking crowd at the Stadium on Saturday.  Go Noles!!!

Of course, they had to bring in Alabama to sell out the place.  FSU didnt even sell out the Gator Bowl when the were here for the ACC Championship as I recall.   ;)

I think the Tide win this game in a walk, BTW.

I might have to pull out the camera this weekend.  Downtown should be alive with Alabama coming to town.

Both schools got the same alotment of tickets....it should be a balanced crowd. Unlike the FL/GA game there will be many more people from out of town.  According to the local press a much larger local economic impact than the FL/GA game.  We will see.  Anyway you look at it, Downtown will be busy this weekend.

and just so GatorNation understands, they actually expect record attendance....more then FL/GA draws even!

I am sure the Fl/Ga game will try and top it if they can.

I wonder if JSO will close every street except State and Union?

We will see how the fans break down.  It should be overwhelmingly FSU given the relative proximities of the schools.  Either way, it is great for downtown and I wish we could make this an annual event.  And, I was just messing with you FSU boys.   ;D

It's OK Riverside....I hear it all the time from my Gator buds....

Jason

I geel your pain FSUJax.  My entire family is full of Gator fans and I'm the sole FSU fan.  I'm suprised they even claim me as a relative!  Does help to keep things lively though...!

Captain Zissou

Hold on there FSU fans, a record-breaking weekend??  If it happens I will be very impressed and happy that another successful game has come to jacksonville, but Gainesville pretty much empties out every year for FLA/GA.  I'm already dreading the drive up, which takes an extra hour because of traffic in Starke.  I wish I could be there this weekend to see the festivities, but we'll decide who has the bigger weekend on October 29th.

fsujax

I haven't heard of any official counts as far as economic impact, but we do know that the stadium set an all-time attendance record.  GO NOLES!!!!!  The stadium was packed full. The atmosphere was great.
