The weather report shows 61 7 sunny!

Perfect football weather. ;D  Just hope we can defeat the 9-0 Titans. We almost have to win out and be 11-5 in order to have a shot at the playoffs in the AFC this year. A 10-6 record might get us in but Cleveland was 10-6 last season and missed out. The Jags have a tough road ahead, but I still believe in them.

I'll be there. I'm glad they moved the time up to 4:15. Just hope it's not too chilly.

Really!!! Man thats awesome. Ill be at the Broncos v. Falcons game, but you all scream your heads off please!!! A win would be news breaking!! ESPN would be all over it...plus its the TITANS, we owe those chumps. Remember the 99 AFC Championship.....bring that pain and hatred with you.

Any new on ticket sales (is it televised?)?

I've heard this season that the Jags front office doesn't want to make a big deal out of the ticket-selling situation which is why we don't hear much about it during the week, unlike in seasons past, where all throughout the week you would hear about how xxxx amount of tickets were still for sale. But with this being a high profile game (9-0 Titans, new 4:15 time slot,  national televised CBS game, Jags season on the line), I anticipate no problem selling this one out, or atleast meet the blackout demands.

First Coast News is reporting that they avoided a blackout yet again. Lets just hope its not reminiscent of the scene when we played Pittsburgh a few weeks ago.  :(

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I still have nightmares about that game.  reggie barlow muffing the kick!!!  I was in section 204 then, two huge, I mean huge titan fans in front of me.  Nicest guys in the world, rooting for there team, we were chatting and talking nicely the whole game.  If you have ever gone to an away game in the NFL, my wife and I have done 6, it can be a very scary experience.  Thats why I always encourage fans to treat the visitors nicely, if they are just rooting for there team.  After we lost that game had to shake there hands and compliment them, better team won.

Could someone tell me what does the NFL consider when it applies the blackout rule and attendance. Does every team announce attendance figures based on tickets sold or actual number of people in the stands? I know we hear about blackouts here but what about other cities. Atlanta has had at least three games in which attendance was announced at 62,000-63,000. If the georgia Dome seats 72,000-73,000 would that constitute a blackout. What about Oakland. They had 47,000 at their last home game. Capacity at their stadium, 62,000. That would certainly constitute a blackout wouldnt it? Miami had 65,000 in their first home game --capacity-75,000. My point is that we arent the only ones with this problem.

I think theres only about 5 players on the Jags who were in the NFL that year. And Freddie T is the only one who was playing for the Jags back then. I can assure you that he remembers, though.  ;D

agreed...best to be civil, civil. Plus, good sportsmanship makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm a little confused by this too, since the official rule is that all non-premium seats must be sold and a couple weeks ago, I think it was against the Browns, the Jaguars avoided a blackout but after the deadline the front office announced there were still non-premium seats available...my only explanation would be that the Browns returned their allotment of tix, since those dont count towards the blackout number. But I'm not sure.

Anyway, in regards to your other questions, different teams follow different rules (whether they choose to announce actual attendance or sold tickets) and as I alluded to, blackouts depend on the non-premium seats so the exact number needed to avoid them depends on how many premium/club/skybox seats a particular stadium has.

Hey Shwaz, when you go to the Titan game, in your 86' Datsun, let your boy drive you there, and you ride on the passenger side shotgun; The side with the broken seat belt. :D

adamh0903

most NFL teams announce tickets sold. The deal with the Jags avoiding blackouts ,but tickets still being available is there is a business who stepped up and said they would buy what is needed to avoid blackout, so the jags avoid a blackout, and the negativity that goes with it, the front office still pushes tickets, and the business is only on the hook for what is left on sunday.

The front office has done a great job pushing the mini packs also.

QuoteHey Shwaz, when you go to the Titan game, in your 86' Datsun

Datsun discontinued the brand in 1981 and was completely fazed out by 1985 when they became Nissan.

For a guy who spends as much time in the library as you... you'd think this would be more difficult for me.

And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

^^^Okay, change that to your 86' Toyota Corolla; Man, you REALLY have to much TIME on your side, looking up Datsun on Google; Remember, ride shotgun in the Toyota; The side wit' the busted seat belt___  :D
