Went to my first gun show today (thanks to whoever - UTG maybe?? - recommended going there).  It was pretty awesome...only bad part was that I got there about 2:45 or so and it ended at 4:00.

Bought a Smith & Wesson 9 mm - $310.  I think this was a good price.  Pick it up on Thursday.

Wish I had had more time - I think I heard some guy selling a .410 shotgun for $40 to a dealer!!!  what tha??

Anyone else go out there?

I recently inherited my dads gun collection, which includes several rifles from my grandfather, and my dads old service revolver. I hope to get up and get it sometime early next year. I have been told by several to get it appraised.

I will be looking for a good gun locker. I would like to get one in wall. Any suggestions?

dtp- i looked at the gun lockers at Dicks about 9 months ago (the green, thin sheet metal ones) - they were from $100 (go on sale every 4th week or so) up to $300 or so.  they also have the large stand up gun safes (so does Sports Authority & Gander Mtn).  "in wall" though - don't remember seeing any like that (i'm no expert though).

I'm considering a fingerprint gun safe for the pistol.  But I want to get one where I can also bolt it to the 2x4 studs in the wall - and hopefully not spend more on it than I did the gun itself!

A friend of mine has a really nice gun lock that has requires a code, and when you grab the case, your fingers are perfectly placed to rapidly open the case, rather than try to unlock a trigger lock. (small so it can go in a night side table or cabinet.

We have had a trigger lock on ours, and I have never felt it did anything but keep me from accessing it if I ever really needed it. I'm thinking about looking into getting one as well.

I went to.... they had several AK-47's for under $500! It was small, but good prices on everything. I picked up a few things there....

Gunsafe... if you are going to put your home protection weapon in there, make sure you can get to it easily, and kids can't.... Codes may be hard to remember if someone just crashed through your front door/window.

They had awesome conceal purses and bags there, very good quality leather, very good prices...which reminds me Driven.... get your concealed permit, then you can carry in and out to your car/house....

Out by Palatka or did you buy it from Shooters?

There is a good range out by Palatka you can 'try it out" at if you are out that way...

Any shows nearby before Christmas?  I'm looking for a Remington 11-87 12 gauge with the interchangeable chokes for my son.  Gander at the St. Augustine outlet malls has a good selection of weapons and gun safes.
