Shipley Do-Nuts eyes Jax expansion, including Downtown

Looks like Shipley's has big plans for Jax, including a potential Downtown location

With the relaunch of Shipley Do-Nuts at 12667 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach, Virentes Hospitality is ready to establish its Jacksonville footprint.

Only two of these stores currently operate in Florida — the aforementioned Jax Beach location and one in Orlando. Virentes, however, has plans to change that. The hospitality group plans to open a total of 22 more stores — 16 in the state and six more in Jacksonville.

Virentes already has folks operating in the Jacksonville market, so the group is familiar with the area's continued population growth, the consumer-focused demographic fits "very well for what a Shipley can do," Virentes Vice President of Operations Andrew Povec told the Business Journal.

When Povec refers to the Jacksonville market, he means anywhere in the area from Clay County into Nassau.

"We'll go all the way up to Yulee. We'll go wherever the opportunity presents itself. We'll go downtown if we get the opportunity," Povec said.
