Cultural heritage trails take users on journeys between sites, attractions or businesses by providing information and storytelling on their unique neighborhood or environment. In many communities, heritage trails are intended to honor local history and aid local economies, especially through activities that attract tourism. In recent years, heritage trails in underserved, but historically important, sections of cities, have been designed or proposed with the goal of assisting in ongoing revitalization efforts. Here are a few examples of popular cultural heritage trail projects in peer communities across the country.

That worked!
Several good examples for Jacksonville/LaVilla to follow.

By the way, how did the LaVilla Heritage Trail meeting go the other evening?

The proposed name is LaVilla: Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing Heritage Trail.

Here are the draft concepts that were shared for additional feedback.

^ I believe 2 of these were concept #1's in your original post and those were my choices if my vote counts for anything  8)

The concept #2 for the markers looks better in your pictures here than in the concept in your original post so I think that is good too.  Having a seat in front of the marker would likely have people seated blocking access to the marker - not a good idea.  Is there any concern about a tripping hazard for the silver squares under the markers?  Not sure why those are there.

There are some additional changes coming. The concept with the bench will be modified so that someone sitting will not block the exhibit. Also the markers will not have the tripping issue.
