Count on Nate Monroe to call out who is responsible for the garbage mess.  No surprise, see the Mayor and City Council.  His closing line is apropos for more than just the garbage issue too.

COMMENTARY | Jacksonville city officials publicly and deliberately bankrupted the fund that pays for trash pickup over the course of several years — auditors estimate it will be nearly $30 million in the red by September — so it's no great mystery who is responsible for the much-maligned state of city trash and recycling pickup (or, more accurately, lack of pickup).

The financial woes plaguing the solid-waste fund — where garbage collection fees go to pay for the citywide service — have been known to Mayor Lenny Curry and the City Council for years. The problems have been flagged in audit reports every budget cycle and ignored each time. When times were good, and now, when times are not so good, city officials have been unwilling to do the one necessary thing: Raise the fee residents pay for trash pickup that hasn't been touched in more than a decade....

.....Once again, the city is even more behind the eight-ball than it would be if business had been taken care of in the first place.

There's a heaping pile of garbage at 117 W. Duval St. that's due for pickup.

No doubt city council and mayor are responsible... according to Nate the issue probably precedes Curry... nevertheless... they need to fix it ASAP...
