Oh I agree, it is a good topic to discuss, just don't think it should be discussed under "events".

EXACTLY.  Why are the others blind to this?  Go to the politics section and have at it.  This is a posted event.

uptowngirl

Why was an event moved here? I don;t even have a dog in this race, and have no problem with gay marriage, but I also think people can post an event that may not be agreeable to those that do. I am VERY discouraged by this.

Driven1

WHOEVER FINALLY DID THIS, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man...the left is SOOOOO open-minded - until you don't believe exactly as they do.

ugh.

it is still in "Events" as well.  i am going to the services and will post updates to the events each week.

Don't presume that my intent was to hijack the thread, in fact, I just split it so it wouldn't be. As for spreading hate...not true...it's that kind of mindset that this event is all about, that generates the hatred

uptowngirl

BS.

An Driven you might as well get used to it this is what the world will be like if that one gets in... say bye nbye 1st ammendment....next will be 2nd but it will be much harder to take that right away

and all of a sudden no one wants to discuss this now.

good grief.

jbm32206

Well, it was heading into too many directions....which makes it difficult to really discuss it.

Nothing says "Love Thy Neighbor" like pretending person A, as a heterosexual, has this divine, legal right to tell person b, as a homosexual, they don't deserve the same basic human rights as you do. Didn't we get past this nonsense with the civil rights movement, women's suffrage, desegregation, etc?

In a country where one out of every two marriages ends in divorce, us straight folk don't exactly have the authority or clout to tell anyone they are going to tarnish the good name or sanctity of our marriage.

If the church REALLLY wants to turn the over 15 million gay Americans living in this country off from Christ and his message, this is a great way.

I'm sure Jesus would be the first one blocking off that gay man with cancer's hospital room when his partner of 20 years wants to see him one last time before he dies, but can't because he doesn't have the legal rights afforded by marriage.

Kudos for that Ken.

certainly lovey-dovey and feel-good isn't it?  :)  i agree that it would be nice if things were this way.  if i were God, perhaps I would've created it where things were this way.  alas, i'm not God.  and i can admit that.
