Vibrancy!

QuoteWhat was The Jacksonville Landing soon will become a lawn, at least until it's redeveloped, which the city wants to do

James Croft, city assistant director of public affairs, said May 8 that contractor D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co. Inc. and subcontractor Crossbow Cattle Inc. are grading the riverfront site Downtown and are scheduled to start sodding late next week.

"Sodding operations are expected to take a week. The fencing will remain in place for a period after the sod is laid to help with grass establishment," he said.

Put a few cows on it and we've come full circle.

Build a combination Fuddruckers and Macy's on the site!  [/end sarcasm mode]

"Sodding operations"??  How much did we pay for a fully qualified and certified sodding operations team?  ;D ::) :o
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Not a bad idea. Might as well get some historic use out of the property.

Are they installing some type of irrigation?

Wow; hustling, bustling, waterfront. Till the cows come home; bring the horses in to pasture. Wasn't Jax called Cowford at one time? Name it, "Cowford Park on the Waterfront."

As I look at the picture of what was once the Jacksonville Landing and is now an empty lot, excuse me for the language I am about to use...ASSHOLES! They could have let the Landing live on until some type of re-use or development had been chosen and decided; and judging from Jacksonville's track record on developing empty parcels, lots, etc., let's see, it'll sit for the next 30 years or so and all of us in this forum will have passed away. Can't believe the leadership in Jax City Government, whether past, whether present.

That will be supplied by the homeless.

I believe they kept the Landing's irrigation system.
