Jumbo Shrimp reach deal to rename Baseball Grounds as 121 Financial Ballpark

The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville will now be known as 121 Financial Ballpark, pending City Council approval, after the credit union reached a 13-year naming rights deal for the home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but might as well take the revenue.

Hopefully some of said revenue is reinvested into the venue over the next decade.

On a similar note, the new signage that VyStar has installed around the arena looks really nice. I know there was some concern from veterans groups that the naming deal would downplay veterans, but if anything, all the new signage - visible from just about anywhere coming into and out of downtown - might actually make the veterans aspect more prominent.

Interesting deal given their current financials and they don't have a permanent CEO in place.
