Looks like Elton John's very last U.S. concert ever will be right here in Jacksonville in 2019!  Interesting, as he was the opening act for the new arena too!  We were there  8).

I haven't seen him in over 25 years.  Better take advantage of this one, eh?

Interesting. But there is space to add dates after Jax so may not be finished yet.

Interesting. But there is space to add dates after Jax so may not be finished yet.

Given his next tour dates shown after Jax are in Europe, about 6 weeks following here, I would think that would be about right to allow time to ship the sets to Europe from the U.S. and check out that everything arrived in good order across the pond.  I suppose they could fly everything but if it is several containers and they have the window of time, it sure is a lot cheaper to go by sea.

The other possibility would be to return to the U.S. after going 'round the world but I figure his final concert(s) would likely be in the U.K.  Also, it seems his U.S. tour dates cover the U.S. pretty thoroughly so I don't know what would be left to return for (although I don't see, notably, Seattle, Indianapolis, or Charlotte among NFL cities with metro area concerts).

The website also mentions this about the tour:

QuoteKicking off in the U.S. on September 8, 2018, the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will consist of more than 300 shows across five continents, hitting North America, Europe and the Middle East, Asia, South America and Australasia before reaching its conclusion in 2021.

The initial shows are up now on the tour page and go on sale beginning Friday, February 2. Register your interest to be updated when additional shows are announced around the world.

Considering there are less than about 80 dates listed so far, with none that I noticed in the "Middle East, Asia, South America or Australasia" or any dates past June 2019, I think it's a good guess there will be more to come...probably still in the US.

Anyway, still interesting!

Who's going to this show? Last tour, so definitely considering it. Might even splurge and take bae's parents with us just for fun.. obviously I got plenty of time to plan or not, since the show is a year away! Yeah I looked on EJ's website for tourdates, first bemoaning that he picked all those other Floridian cities over Jax (Tampa, Orlando, Miami, etc) then continued down the list and was pleasantly suprised to see Jax VMA on the list for last U.S. date before going overseas to continue this last tour. Woohoo! A lot of times, when artists say it's their last tour before retirement, it can be a ploy to sell more Tix (Ozzy&Prince from my prior experiences, they in fact did go back on tour another year after I went to their "retirement tour" shows) but after getting burned with regret after Tom Petty passed away last fall with the show sold out in every city I considered going to, and the fact that Elton John has reached higher than 70 years of age, so I think it could be his last tour, and dammit janet, I just love him on the piano..so I ought to consider going, surely. Anyway, so who else here might go? Take your significant other/spouse/etc/family members?

Yeah, looks like Elton wants to come back to the states before the tour is over.

QuoteFinally, John said that he wants the final performance of his final tour to be in the U.S.

"I want my last performance to be in America ... this is where I got my start," he said. "This is, in 1970 at Troubadour, that it all started."

"I owe this country so much," John said. "I want to start and finish in America."
