I'm more excited for this project than any other in Jacksonville. I hope the redevelopment goes smoothly. The restaurant/hotel combo could really transform downtown Jacksonville, especially in the eyes of tourists.

Any updates on when we'll actually see cranes here for restoration? Last I remember seeing the city was supposed to green light it or something a few months ago.

Before construction can start, the incentives deal has to be approved by council, the design has to get past DDRB and permitting. It will be a few months before all this stuff is taken care of.

What are your thoughts on this getting past council?

Do you know if the site plan still the same, including the hotel addition and entrance on W. Adams? I know that site plan in the article has been around for a while now.

I was told that some modifications were being made to the site plan and parking garage design.

This is by far the most important project in Jacksonville. Please God, let's finally get this done.

Any idea on when the city council will vote on the incentive package?

I drove by yesterday and saw Danis sign on the fence, have the construction already started?

thelakelander

Danis is working on the FSCJ project next door.

Even in it's current state The Marble Bank is beautiful.

How did Scotty Schwartz secure a lease before anyone else was given a chance?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that he signed the lease before anyone else.

Thanks

Hard to sign a lease with someone who does not own a property.  Except in Jax.

It would be hard here too, which is presumably why the lease came from the ones who *do* own the property.
