Did Dickey's BBQ go out of business?

We went to the Dickey's BBQ on San Jose in Mandarin Saturday night and the door was locked and the lights were off. Drove over to the brand new Dickey's at Southpoint and it was also closed. Checked the Dickey's BBQ website and no locations in Jacksonville are listed when you search for Locations.

Did they go out of business?

That Southpoint spot must be cursed. Destroyed Corner Bakery AND Dickey's.

But yes, they're gone. They posted an announcement on FB, but didn't give any details.

I really liked the Woody's barbecue that used to be in the same plaza on San Jose that Dickey's barbecue was in. They were there for a long time and then closed, and a sub place went into the area where it was.

Yeah, the one at that location is gone. They're a national chain though, and the Mandarin location is still open AFAIK.
Good news though, is that bonos is just up the road on 95

That Woody's didn't close. They moved somewhere south of Mandarin, although I haven't got a clue where. I think the landlord wouldn't renew their lease or something. They might be the location in Green Cove Springs, or they might have closed permanently now if they were somewhere else, but at the time, it was them moving not them going out of business.

I don't think they've faired too well in this area.  The one in Starke on 301 closed a while ago too.

I live around the corner. I believe Corner Bakery's closing had more to do with the tenant than the brand, although that location is tough with the construction project taking place. Also, that Dickey's couldn't have been open longer than a month or so.  I had been meaning to stop by one of these days. Oh well.
