Quotean increase in property taxes to start paying the debt now

Absolutely NOT. You don't raise property taxes to the folks who own property just to pay for the city's past mistakes. You raise property taxes to make the properties more valuable and desirable to outside folks.

What Curry did was extend an existing tax that everyone paid. Now he has to find the courage and use Mousa's guts to raise property taxes to make Jacksonville strong again with more infrastructure to continue the value of homes to rise.

^^ Considering it was property taxpayers that got the reduction in taxes earlier so that pension payments could be diminished, it seems logical to me they should be raised to fill the gap now.

The thing is this 'solution' added a whopping 1.5 billion additional burden to taxpayers.  Yet the originators will pat themselves on the back for being 'fiscally responsible' and 'responsible leaders'.
