Well,

Bummer for who? Tebow or the RNC?
I'm not a huge Tebow fan, but I think he's a good guy and this will damage his brand. I doubt he sides with Trump on much, but he's obviously a pro-lifer and he probably votes on that issue alone.

I gotcha.
I think he might be kicking off a political career. Perhaps run for congress? He sure won't ever be playing football again. I think there was a rumor a few months back that he might run for some office, I don't recall which though.

Bummer for Tebow and those of us who are his fans.  I hate that he is attaching himself to politics.  As a Florida fan/grad, I love him as a player and kind of just ignore his politics and religion.  This makes that a bit more difficult.  Even more so that he is choosing the TRump convention to make his appearance.  Just all around disappointed in this development.

So basically, you're disappointed BECAUSE FOOTBAW HELLYEAH?
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Geez, talk about guilty by association.

Cant you just like the guy for who he is?

If StephenDare was asked to speak at the RNC, I wouldnt think any different of him, so should Tim be any different?

No, but nice try.

And, as far as guilt by association, no: I am disappointed someone I admire has a pretty shitty world view.

So someone you admire BECAUSE FOOTBAW HELLYEAH is voicing the same opinions he's consistently voiced since he began his footbaw career, and this disappoints you?

And I would gladly speak. I am not sure they would like my commentary though.

Tebow is a very sweet and gentle guy.  One of the first people down in Orlando comforting an old friend who was in the hospital after the shooting at Pulse.

And the RNC could do worse than hosting a 30 something year old virgin football star with more photos of him kissing men than women. ;)

Stephen, if you ever get invited to something like this, send me an invitation, I'd gladly pay to see it. Maybe you could enlighten the republican party as to where they went wrong. Though, I doubt they'd listen :D

Tebow is a "sweet and gentle guy" I agree. Which is why he doesn't fit with the trump crowd. Like I said, it'll tarnish his brand and that's too bad.

But StephenDare will never be asked to speak at the RNC for the same reason that I or Rachael Maddow will never be asked to speak there.  They aren't looking for a diversity of opinions.  Like any political convention, they are gathering to promote their candidate and to get everyone on the same page (or in the GOPs case, singing from the same hymnal).  Anyone who speaks there is endorsing Trump, either explicitly or tacitly.  That's why Rep. David Jolly, Mitt Romney, John Kasich, John McCain, Condoleezza Rice, Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Ridge, Tom Coburn, Bobby Jindal, Mark Sanford, Lindsey Graham, Jeb! Bush, George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Marco "No-Show" Rubio and many others aren't going.

Timmy doesn't get a pass just because you think he's cute.

Tim Tebow, in a video posted to his Instagram account Thursday night, denied reports that he will speak at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next week.

Said Tebow: "It's amazing how fast rumors fly, and that's exactly what it is — a rumor."
"The problem with quotes on the internet is you can never be certain they're authentic." - Abraham Lincoln
