The Law Firm Billboard Wars

On a recent trip through Louisville, KY I was pretty stunned when rolling through the urban center I was confronted by not one, not two, but three different billboards promoting Morgan & Morgan.

Most Jaxsons have become accustomed to the competing billboards of Farah & Farah, Morgan & Morgan, Barnes &Cohen, Ron Sholes, Steve Watrel, Harrell & Harrell.

But it seems the Morgans are exporting "billboard law" to other cities outside Florida. I understand to compete, the Farahs are also expanding.

Truckers are used to seeing Dr Webbs "scalpel free" vastectomy ( over 30,000 completed!) And there are others that seem to be odd for a billboard, but the Morgans seem to going for the ultimate in promoting what in reality is ambulance chasing.

Turning what used to be considered a specialty occupation into what amounts to be a McDonalds franchise approach to praticing law seems a bit unnerving.

What makes a lawyer from M&M so special? Because his CEO advertises himself wearing a Santa suit? Why does he only advertise while wearing his toupee?

Or is Mr. Morgan trying to become to law what Charles Schwab did for investment banking? Make it more accesible and relatable?

Frankly I am finding the billboards are becoming visual pollution. I much prefer to see an electronic billboard cycling than having to look at Mrs Morgan or the 3 boys every day. Fortunately the Morgan daughter gave up on law and runs a shop in Winter Park.

Morgan and Morgan reach all the way to Memphis and maybe beyond. Those of us who lived in Central Florida years ago remember the firm as Morgan Chase Collin and Gilbert.
Interesting article on it:

But I believe they're trying to be the nation's law firm.

The Lawyer and Doctor billboards help us when we play the alphabet game on the road, so leave 'em up!

Binder and Binder out of Dallas became the national kings of Social Security disability litigation, even getting a scolding from Congress at their methods with administrative judges.

To each his own I guess, but the billboard should really say "for my bank account dot com"...."Offices Everywhere"

It's not just the Billboards the TV commercials for the law firms make me sick. Morgan & Morgan is the worst IMO I wouldn't trust them for any future claims. And all of these Lawyer commercials stink. If I need a P.I.A it will not be from the TV cockroaches.

The advertise that you can get $1500 per unwanted phone call (collections, refi mortgage, etc).  Try getting that from them.  I asked them if I can just send them a list of the numbers that keep calling, and they said it was not that simple.  Too bad, that is what they are advertising.

+1 I also called them and was told the same thing. They even told me they couldn't help me but would give me a number to call for another Lawyer. Someone should sue Morgan & Morgan for false advertising.

Their advertising is oversimplified. What they're referring to is filing suit against the people who call you in violation of the TCPA or FDCPA, or both, and then the defendant will ultimately pay the statutory fines, plus their attorneys fees. The law firm itself has no interest in paying anybody because someone else called them. None of which is explained.
