The best pick of the 2016 draft for the Jaguars was definitely Myles Jack. He is a potential Hall of Famer and the kind of elite linebacker we simply didn't currently have on the roster (no disrespect to Poz or Telvin, both very good players). What makes the pick even better were the unique set of Jaguar-specific circumstances that made the pick possible.

I suspect Dante Fowler will ultimately be the leader of our defense and he is a potential Hall of Famer. But his injury kept him off the field last year and accounted for at least two losses. Without those losses we wouldn't have been in position to draft as high as we did. Combine that with an organization philosophy that fixed the offensive side of the ball first (mission accomplished), this positioned the Jags to make some premier selections in a draft heavy on defensive talent. Jalen Ramsey is, of course, an equal talent to Myles Jack but wasn't as much a need. Still, Jalen is a potential Hall of Famer and *that* is what makes this young defense so damn exciting. A potential Hall of Famer at every level of the defense; D-line, in the Middle, and on the back end.

But Myles Jack's ability to be the quarterback of the defense while possessing extreme versatility -- that made him the most important selection.
