Frontier Airlines announced Thursday that it will continue its service at St. Augustine's Northeast Florida Regional Airport with the addition of two nonstop routes to Philadelphia International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

In a release from Frontier, the airline announced service to Chicago will begin on April 14, and service to Philadelphia will begin on April 15.

Flights between St. Augustine and Chicago will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Philadelphia will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Fares in these new markets will be as low as $69 each way.

Frontier is putting its full summer schedule on sale Thursday for travel through Aug. 15. Including the St. Augustine service, Frontier Airlines has added 42 new routes throughout the United States.

I wonder when these will become available for purchase.
I'm interested to see if they'll be super cheap.

I have not flown them before but thinking about maybe doing a Chicago weekend this summer. Leave on Thursday, come back Tuesday.

^I cashed out for a decent profit a few months ago. Now that stocks are falling again, I may revisit picking them back up.

Great to see the lil' airport open itself to new markets like Chicago. Looks like it will be another banner year for St. Augustine tourism even without a big time celebration like the city's 450th anniversary drawing people.

I just hope they don't get to dependent on having big time events like that or Mumford & Son to get visitors, but that being said if the Holy See sees the need for another North American tour, a St. Augustine visit by Pope Francis is a no-brainer. And it's not just because of the town's cultural and historical ties to the church, but that St. Augustine has shown time and time again it can pull off all the stops to host gatherings of that magnitude.
