UNF has started redoing the Arena gym.

Osprey logo in student section looks great.

New baskets with 30 sec clocks over them.

The scoreboard hanging over center court is gone (temporarily) with 2 new end scoreboards.

And, by the 2nd TV time out,

In a morsel only Project Maximus would appreciate.

The day after UNF beat Illinois, I was at a sporting goods store in Springfield, Illinois and recognized some kids due to the high school mascot sweatshirts they were wearing. (Greenville Comets) I used to live in Greenville, years ago.

After I told them I was from Florida and came to see the UNF basketball game, the dad spoke up and said, "I am putting together your new scoreboard", I was like "Huh, you work at Nevco?".

Nevco Scoreboard is headquartered in Greenville, Illinois and won the contract to replace the scoreboards in UNF Arena.

So when I walked in tonight, and saw no scoreboard hanging from the rafters, I knew why. The guy said he was finishing it up for testing. I didn't hear a date on when it would be installed, but Nevco (Ralph Nevinger) invented the electronic basketball scoreboard in Greenville back in 1934.

UNF Arena also has some other upgrades.

More press tables have been installed. Premium seats have been installed at floor level opposite the benches. The A-Sun member banners have been moved from the south rafters over general admission and now hang on the west wall. The A-Sun Champions and NCAA Tournament banners hang over the fan entrances. The repainting of the wall behind the student section with the new Osprey logo looks really great.

Dallas Moore passed 1000 career points tonight. He got a standing ovation when he came out.

That was actually very interesting. The scoreboard manufacturers are in random places. Daktronics is in South Dakota but does boards all over the world.

BTW, I think recently it came to light that you're in your 20s?? You have had many very interesting experiences. A few months ago I assumed you were in your 60s lol.

Incorrect on both counts.

I am older than Stephendare but younger than Ocklawaha.

Besides, if I set up Dan Peek in 1981, that would most definitely put me north of the 20's.

Really impressive win. We'll see how J.U. does tonight against the Noles. Took a quick look at their basketball website and was stunned to see the Dolphins haven't made the tournament in 30 years. INCREDIBLE !!!

I watched some of the UNF game on WatchESPN last night -- that's a first for me -- and definitely liked what I saw.
