For the third time in the past four weeks, I find myself at Uncommon Grounds wondering what the hell Ive done to be able to afford brilliant, unticketed live music.

As in the past, there is no cover charge at the front door of this quirky San Marco landmark, brainchild of local community maker, Diane Whitten.

Despite the lack of any visible ticket monies being collected, the music is such high quality that one can barely believe that it isnt a professional show booked in advance.

At present there is a gifted chantuese named Elisabeth Cramer performing a set of acoustic guitar and vocal performances that are simply superb.  Sweet voice, engaging riffs and emotional by laid back songwriting.

This is supperclub quality performance.

Uncommon Grounds has been hosting a series of high quality debut performances that is only underscoring the disconnect between the sheer number of talented performers vs the shockingly sparce venues for them to perform in Jacksonville.

If you havent dropped by the little coffeehouse in San Marco (next to the Subway Sandwiches) then by all means do.  As soon as I can ascertain the programming and how to access the calender, I will.  But tonight I am afraid, that this tragically under marketed will be mine alone (on this board, anyways) to enjoy.
