looks like a payback for the Charleston murders.

It only looks that way on the right wing sites.

The shooter is a cameraman for the station and used to be a reporter.

There was a twitter account that was apparently posted in suspicious timing saying that the shooter had inscribed the initials of the victims on his hollow point bullets, but no verification that it was the shooter himself who posted the tweets.

This however hasn't stopped right wing media from treating the tweets as the literal gospel truth however.

Was that not the same account that had the first person video of the shooting posted?  The guy also sent a manifesto saying the initials thing to ABC news last I read.

I didn't know ABC News was the right wing media.

Yeah I think it'd pretty clear this was retribution for Charleston.  Either way it's clear there are sick people from all walks of life.  This guy clearly had life issues.

Chicago (Obama's howntown) is a gun control city, with blacks dying at an alarming pace; Add gun control to the rest of the US = a success story, whoopee!!!

Breitbart (which is a far right wing website) was correct, it was a racially motivated murder; Saying it wasn't is like saying Charleston wasn't. No double standards here, you can't have it both ways.

It appears there may well have been a racial element to the killings and I think it would be silly or dishonest to turn a blind eye to that.

It also appears that there may have been a certain amount of personal vendetta(s) and possible mental health issues which contributed to the killings as well.

I would hope that people would be able to stop trying to draw conclusions about motivations, etc - and I include myself in this assessment - as a) we only know so much at this point - and may never really know the whole story [which is something that can be said for any shootings, not just this one] and b) it's really irrelevant in the scheme of things.

Canada doesn't have gun control...  why isn't their murder rate as high?  It's not that simple.

The USA is a different monster Finehoe. Comparisons with those much smaller countries (with most of them being far less diverse) makes for apples and oranges comparisons. Why are you going outside of the US? If US gun control was so great, it would've worked for Chicago, Baltimore, Philly, etc.

The Mental health issue is real when it comes to violence here in America. And I blame first the person committing the violence towards others and themselves. Then Blame goes to family members that just poo poo the problem & friends. That come out later to say I believe so & so was a little off? This is to late after a crime or even a suicide has happen. I would turn on a friend in a heart beat if I knew or saw issues about them being harmful to themselves or planning something against the Law. Now I have turned in someone for doing things against the law, but that is different from this subject. MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS need to be addressed NOW not after the shooting, stabbing, etc etc etc.
One of many unsung internet heroes who are almost entirely misunderstood. Contrary to popular belief, many trolls are actually quite intelligent. Their habitual attacks on forums is usually a result of their awareness of the pretentiousness and excessive self-importance of many forum enthusiasts.
