QuoteJacksonville is one of several cities that could see a new professional sports league in 2016.

Paul Doyle, an Atlanta-based sports agent who represents track and field athletes, including Olympic champion Ashton Eaton and Lolo Jones, created the American Track League as a new brand in professional sports.

Doyle officially launched the league last year with a five-meet series that took place in Georgia, Indiana, Virginia and Texas over the course of six weeks.

Jacksonville is one eight cities that Doyle is targeting along with Atlanta, Boston, Richmond, Virginia, Charlotte, North Carolina, St. Louis and Sacramento, California.
