Per JBJ:

Local artists are getting one – or about a half million – more reasons to get creative in Downtown.
About $70,000 in private funding is available to artists interested in creating temporary works of art in Jacksonville, the Cultural Council announced on Saturday.
That won't be the only art project underway in the Urban Core. The DIA's Downtown Urban Art Projects is kicking off, offering $406,000 in funding throughout its three phases. Artists will be given the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on utility boxes, supports for the Skyway and other street furnishings.
The first phase of the DIA art project is beginning this summer, offering a total of $180,000.
Together, nearly $500,000 will be available to artists who want to contribute.
