New development next to Conservation lands on Goodbys Creek?

Just drove south on San Jose Blvd. Past the John T. Lowe Boat ramp on Goodbys Creek and what is going in next to the conservation lands. Was any of this before the Jacksonville Waterways Commission?

No, Wicked Barley is going in on Baymeadows Road at Goodbys Creek. They haven't started clearing land there yet. What's going in on San Jose just south of the creek is Watercrest at San Jose, a senior care facility with assisted living and memory care.

So was this before the Jacksonville Waterways Commission? How much of a buffer before you clear cut to the water? Is this still next to the Conservation land? Does the Riverkeeper know about this project. Ock and I kayaked this and although I was driving by I just glanced over and it was OH NO. I will check it out further. Is this District 5 or 6?

There's a small tributary to Goodbys that actually cuts thru the property being developed. It's not as wide as it is behind the apartments next door. But the senior center has property on both sides of that tributary. I paddled there Saturday and the land is being cleared all the way to the narrow creek, but nothing on the east side of it yet. There's the remains of an old bridge over it.

 It's wide and that bridge according to Ock and Ock feel free to jump in here. That is an historic piece of history. Check out those rails. Where is the Riverkeeper on this? How about the Historical society? Was this before the Jacksonville Waterways Commission? Is the plan to take out the bridge? Kayaked it today. So where is the Conservation land?  What council district is this in? Was there an ordinance number? Does the NEW park guy have any idea what's going on with this? Did Ed Lucakovic handle this?

Last instance a Land Use & Zone issue was placed before Waterways- Ortega Boatyard "Working Waterfront" conversion to Condo,the Commission quickly exhausted and drowned.

Not their venue or propensity,and any attempts to expand Waterways Authority....aw,skip it. Probably just as well.Just keep on the lookout for evil Manatee Lovers,per historical placement purpose.

In fact,what you note here Noone was clearly reviewed by certain agency. If anything,beware of Planner & Consultant input,"Mitigation" measures.

Bringing this to our attention at this point is useless- better to interject during certain legally binding comment & standing periods.Review the process,get back with us with pertinent,viable Issue.

Maybe move the heck outa' there.

I can't answer any of those questions. But I am curious about the historic nature of the bridge.They do look to be a couple of very old beams. do you know the history?
