In recent years I've only paid attention to this music peripherally. So with that in mind, this lineup looked very solid, although it made me wonder that all these bands I knew way back when are still popular??

Anyway, just wanted to ask if any of these bands were from Jax? I feel like usually one of the big local bands in this genre would make an appearance: Evergreen Terrace, Shinedown, Cold, Red Jumpsuit. But I'm somewhat ignorant like I said...are any of those still around? Or are there other locals rising in this scene?

QuoteINDIE BAND OF THE WEEK: WORLD GONE

We pride ourselves at RockRevolt to find the cream of the crop indie bands that bust their asses off, and not only bust their asses off, but do it WELL! Here is a band that absolutely made us jump and go, "WOW!" World Gone is an example for Indie Bands everywhere of what to do, and how to do it! Out of Jacksonville, Florida the guys of World Gone have brought it together and can run with the big dogs ANY day! In fact, they do! From a stellar sound to an aesthetic that forces you to turn and look, these guys don't even need to be on your radar, because they will be in your face soon enough, and you WILL see them, and you WILL love them!

Also of interest is this:

World Gone and In This Moment wear masks and other latex from a local young artist from Jax. Tyler Pasquale who owns Wicked Corpse Designs. https://squareup.com/market/wicked-corpse-designs.  He has also made masks for GWAR and is extremely talented. He was a vendor this weekend and also performed on stage with World Gone.

QuoteWelcome To Rockville 2014 Sells Out With 40,000 In Attendance!

The two day festival held on April 26th and 27th at Jacksonville, Florida's Metropolitan Park sold out with 20,000 tickets on each day of the festival.  Monster Energy brought this face-melting festival to the St. John's River for the fourth year in a row with hard rock powerhouses KoRn, Rob Zombie, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Staind, and much more!

Not only were there tons of vendor tents including Marlboro, Ernie Ball, and Crazy Dave's Music Experience, but there were also band autograph signings, a Monster Energy VIP area, and food trucks to offer even the most sophisticated palette satisfaction.  Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown even came to address the crowd on Saturday as a thank you for helping to revitalize the economy in Jacksonville

Also Jim Root (Slipknot) has a house in Atlantic Beach.

Hands down, it looks like Slipknot put on the best show.

Here's a video.  Language warning (you already knew that tho)

I have been waiting 16 years to see Slipknot perform, as they didn't play anywhere that I lived, and I was completely and utterly blown away by their set. 100% worth the wait to see them.
