Department of Interesting Details. Curry's Podium Notes

On the lighter side of things, the Department of Interesting Details managed to capture an image of Candidate Lenny Curry's podium notes from last nights Mayoral Debate at WJCT.  Make of them what you will.  Join us after the jump for the fun!

So, he reminded himself that he is a conservative? One would think he would not need a prompt to say that. lol  So many soundbites last night and at times some rather bizarre statements from Mr. Curry.  I am still trying to wrap my head around his commentary following the question about the HRO.  He stated that the people of Jacksonville are too friendly and nice to discriminate. Uh, okay Lenny.  Not sure where the Jacksonville you live in is but it is not on this earth. Discrimination is one of the ugliest sides to much of Jacksonville history and continues to be. The statement is even more bizarre coming from someone I presume sees himself as one the those nice guys who don't discriminate but cannot find it within himself to answer in the affirmative on the HRO issue. Then there is one of his ugly ads stating that in Jacksonville, crime is up and so is rape, assault and murder as is hate directed toward police officers.  Which of the nice friendly people who don't discriminate perpetrate all these negative behaviors I wonder?  ;)

That's funny......I thought "Jacksonville is at a crosswalk" was inscripted on each's podium.  CC, your right, To people who really listened, Curry sounded like a bumbling idiot, but to his  base They  will only see "conservative" "God". "No taxes' and "No HRO for those gay people". Curry's peeps on Twitter were quite humorous in their blinded love for him.

Curry is running for Mayor.  Nothing he does at this point is private.  No one may truly like it, but it is the way it is and if he gets elected Mayor, it will only get worse.

Based on factual information from WJCT employees, Curry left the note on his podium before leaving the building.  A photo was shot after the debates and everyone leaving.  Curry left it there.  An employee of WJCT saw the note after all were leaving and tore it up, threw it away.  If nothing else, this was careless Curry or he didn't care.  The photo wasn't a "gotcha" minute or stealth undertaking.....Curry simply didn't care or think enough to pick up his notes from the podium after leaving.  Rookie mistake or not enough thought.  That's the facts, Jack.

I do have one more piece of information under The Department of Interesting Details, A local woman who is an outstanding national make up artist and stylist was there to prepare  the T.V. make up for the candidates and Melissa Ross.   Except she was only able to do Melissa, Mayor Brown and Bill Bishop.  Lenny Curry brought his own, personal make up artist.

The part that I find funny absolutely normal during politik season is the complete loss of IQ points from seemingly intelligent people.  It seems that people become unable to be able to delineate opinion from fact.

The facts presented were in the picture.  Everything else is opinion.  Where's the problem?

I guess because the name of the station is "Fox NEWS" makes it so?

I listened to the debate on WJCT radio Thursday night, and again when it was re-played today (Saturday). I have Bishop 1, Brown 2, Curry 3. Bishop wins purely because he was willing to take a position on the HRO instead of the Brown/Curry dance on the question. Right, wrong or indifferent, a mayoral candidate should have, and be willing to share, a position on such an important subject. Dodging the question is not leadership, it's being a chicken. I hate politicians who pander. Make up your mind. Take a position. This is not that hard.

Brown's years in the political field helped him during the debate. Curry struck me as too scripted. He had his key points and regardless of the question he kept going back to them. It worked for Rick Scott, so why not Curry too? Bishop's endorsement by the T/U was a big shot in the arm, but I wonder is it enough. 8 years on the City Council should help, but being the outsider in the GOP is going to be hard to overcome. Brown has some successes to brag about, but has stubbed his toe several times in the past 4 years. I'm looking forward to the next debate, and watching the results on March 24.

Campaign promises are easy to make, but hard to deliver on. The best idea in the world still needs 10 CC votes to make happen.

Can someone post a link to the HRO as it is written as of today?

Thanks.

If that is the fact, and I'll take your word for it, then as previously stated, I have no issue. Personally, I still don't find it interesting. Scribble notes that I can't even read. Doesn't make him look bad (the debate did that) Especially not interesting enough for MetroJax to produce a article on it. The make up artist is irrelevant to me also. I guess your trying to paint Curry as vain? or rich enough to have his own make up artist? Well, we know he's got money and a politician that is vain...breaking news there. Comes off as petty from people that support another candidate. It's silly really. Again, for the record, I didn't vote for Curry.

You seem pretty interested in this thread, you have deemed 'petty", "not interesting" "silly" and clearly not important.  If I felt that way about a thread, I think I would just ignore it, and not read anymore.  So why are you still discussing this?  Sincerely interested in why?
