Freshfootballhelmets on Instagram did a conceptual redo of the Jags helmet. This two-toned helmet concept looks better than the current IMO, but I absolutely hate the 'oversized Bucs-esque' look on it. To tell you the truth, just painting to current helmets all black would make a world of difference for the better IMO.

When the Jaguars revealed the team's current uniform design in April 2013, fan reaction was mixed, especially when it came to the two-tone black and gold helmet.

In August of that year, ESPN – in its annual Uni Watch Power Rankings – ranked the new Nike-created design the worst in the NFL – and all of professional sports, saying:

"Worthy of the bottom spot simply by virtue of having what's bound to go down as the worst helmet in NFL history. Like, did they run out of spray paint or what? As for the rest of the design, it's risky to come up with a superhero outfit for a bad team, because superheroes don't look very superheroic when they're on the wrong end of a 37-10 score every week ..."

With a 3-13 season last year, the Jaguars have received plenty of criticism of the team's play on the field. But critics have let up on the uniform design.

Designer Dylan Young of Deeyung Entertainment this week presented new helmet designs for all 32 NFL teams, including the Jaguars. He's pitching them as "alternates" to be used once a season.

Here's a look at his Jaguars helmet design.

The current helmets are awful. Yes, make them all black and be done with it.

One nit to pick on the "alternative" helmet - the teal tongue gets lost in the teal background.
