Anytime Fitness opening in The Jacksonville Bank building

A new Anytime Fitness gym is opening soon in The Jacksonville Bank Building on the 2nd floor.

I've been going to Anytime off and on for a few years now (i'm a chronic gym hopper) and this one is way more spacious than their other locations. 







The view alone is very cool. It does look familiar though. Did another gym used to reside in this location, Golds gym perhaps?

It's at 100 North Laura St.

Originally, it was a 2-story Gold's gym. A restaurant is located in the bottom floor of it now.

That makes sense then. Usually Anytime Fitness locations are very cozy and usually have private showers. This one looks more like your typical big box gym.

Hopefully there's enough downtown support to keep it a float, because I drove there on my lunch break and it took about 10-15 minute to find parking. Looking for parking is ok when it's for fun, but going to the gym? That will probably deter some people.

I plan on jogging there from work in order to bypass the parking hunt.

If I'm not mistaken, back in 2008, it was a Gold's Gym then and then-Sen. Obama worked out there the day before the election while he was here for a campaign rally.
