Now I couldn't find the appropriate place for this so I will put it here.

I know I probably should have been before and I am planning on it, but first I would like to get feedback on the experience in general. I don't mind paying a good amount of money for quality entertainment or dining, but my question to the masses is what has been your experience there? pros and cons, so-to-speak. In your opinions was it worth the price of admission?

Since the new owners took over, there is a sincere effort to make the experience valuable.  I think it is worth it today as long as you enjoy the show they are featuring. Just a few years ago it was at the end of its rope, fortunately revived.

I took my wife there on our first date.

Now that they have fixed the dining situation, they have been working on getting some known talent for the plays.  But the venue is too small and the prices too low (relatively) to get major league actors without a lead sponsor.

For example, Barbara Eden required a lead sponsor.

I enjoy it, and it has been interesting to see the mix of young talent Tod Booth finds. He always finds a way to mix in someone from a local theater program.

Very positive experience. Congratulations to everyone that contributed to turning it around. Mr. Booth is a Jacksonville treasure. When we have people visiting we will always try to incorporate a trip to the Alhambra. The San Marco Thearter is another positive experience. But the live shows and the menu options. The food has been delicious. the entire staff contribute to a super positive experience.
