In my opinion, everything done recently that has hurt the citizens of Jacksonville has come at least indirectly from the Mayor's office.  He has appointed and promoted incompetent people to higher positions, he has backed and guided the Blight Committee, he has ..well, at least in regards to what has been important to me and the organizations I have been involved in, done nothing positive.

Yeah, kind of a dud, but nobody running against him seems to be as good as he is.

Better than Hogan would've been, worse than Audrey would've been. One thing is good, he hasn't done much damage, mostly because he hasn't done anything.

But, sometimes it's best when government employees do less. Really though, he could be a part time employee like jax bch.

If you're not moving forward, then you are falling behind.  That's true with everything, not just cities. Your peers by and large don't sit still and do nothing.

Plus problems that are not addressed only get worse when neglected.

How is the illegal unauthorized purchase 2014-412 of our water taxis buy the Executive Branch (Mayor) circumventing the Legislative Branch (city council) working out?

....and the potential razing of the urban core as a solution to urban blight?

Brown's great failure has been in bringing in a team that had no idea of how to do their jobs or how a city government operates.  From his Chief of Staff to his Council Liaison, they are all B and C level talents with D and F level experience.

From this standpoint Hogan, Moran and Mullaney would all have been better.  From there it becomes a function of what is your view of the role of city government and what do you then want to do with it.

Again, any of the Republicans would have done a better job as we now know that Brown is really nothing more than a series of photo ops and platitudes.

Here is hoping that someone other than the weak cast of losers that have filed to run against him steps up.
