Downtown Osprey

Just joined the boards and wanted to extend a welcome message to everyone!

I'm a 25 year old UNF graduate currently residing in good old Downtown Jax! I'm excited for the future of downtown, and  made the recent decision to extend my lease for another year. Cheers to the future!

Welcome Osprey !

I, for one, am very happy that you've chosen to become an urban pioneer in downtown Jacksonville.

Hope to see you around town.

Downtown Osprey

Thank you!

It's funny, I would get asked all the time when I first moved downtown "why?" I quickly responded with cost of living compared to other areas of town, location, and culture.

I grew up at the beach and lived in just about every area of town and the fact that I'm blocks from the river (I'm an avid runner), minutes from riverside and the interstate is great.

Although, since that year has past I've noticed the question of "why" is starting to change. Kids my age are genuinely intrigued and interested with downtown.

Welcome to the forum Osprey!

Glad you chose downtown, I think it's a good decision. You're at the beginning of a wave of interest. Downtown Jax is gorgeous, it's the most interesting area to explore on foot. I've always loved the architectural details on the various buildings and how the styles differ so greatly from place to place.

Enjoy!

Welcome! Always good to have another downtown resident on the forum.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

DDC

Welcome. I will join you sometime in the future.

I love downtown. But loving Springfield right now  8)

Smart move, Osprey.  Plus, we need as many voices as possible to move the downtown ball.  The hole in Liberty Street, for example. Clearly not enough bitchin' yet for the Administration to notice that one of the Core roads has been closed for over two years.

^ that hole is the subject of litigation between the City and the Berkman garage repair contractor

downtownbrown

Yes it is.  But logic dictates that the city needs to fix the hole regardless of outcome of any negotiation with the insurance company.  So why don't they get on with it?
