I will create a thread since there is now a bit of progress.

I spoke with Joel a few weeks ago about putting a crew in to "mothball" The historic structures. I finally was able to make an appointment with the operations director of public works. I meet with him on Thursday morning and I am hoping to get the green light to start getting them up to code so I can have people begin to bring them back to their full glory.

I will post updates on the project here as they become available.

The ultimate goal will be full restoration. I am just not really sure what to actually pitch to the city as far as their proposed usage after resto. Any suggestions would be welcomed!

There's one on this old thread, Lenape Bar.

I have been so busy that I have forgotten to thank you for posting the link to this article. It gave me great insight to what was in the neighborhood. It only pumps me up even more knowing I will be possibly restoring such a great piece of history for the African-American community :)
