What can Jacksonville learn from Atlanta?

I think that Jacksonville probably has a lot more in common with the Atlanta metro than Florida's other major metros. What things can Jacksonville learn from Atlanta in order to make the Jacksonville metro a more bustling area?

How NOT to replicate Atlanta.  I live 20 miles north of there. and it's ok, but if I had the resources, I'd move back home tomorrow.

Atlanta is a large beast, so to break it down you need to really focus on what piece you want to chew first. City of Atlanta consists of 3 counties, then there is the metro area inside the perimeter and outside the perimeter. Then there all the counties in the metro area, some 30+, then there is their plan to revitalize downtown. Its a large beast.

I believe Jax to be like Atlanta in that some people in the outside counties, still metro Atlanta, do not care to ever see downtown Atlanta, much like some who live in Jax do not care to ever see downtown Jax. Essentially downtown is a community much like Mandarin or Town Center are communities. People tend to stay close in their communities and the Atlanta Braves announced they were moving closer to their fan base in the Cobb County Community, so businesses follow these trends too.

not really much to learn in my opinion. From my vantage point things and ideas come WITH people. Jacksonville doesnt have the same population as Atlanta. Honestly I dont think Atlanta is far more advanced then Jax, it just has more people which in turn where there are more ideas and more things to do. Jacksonville does have a conservative attitudes toward a lot of subjects and they come off as boring or uninviting to people on the outside looking in. My question is what does Atlanta have that Jacksonville wants to have?

^A fixed mass transit system that extends far outside of downtown, Piedmont Park and the Beltline! Other than that, I'll pass on everything else  that Atlanta has to offer.

I say the river running through the city, beaches, better weather, less  taxes, and that traffic in Atl is horrible!
