City to repair historic Snyder Memorial

Snyder Memorial, the former church along Laura Street near Hemming Plaza, will undergo a major structural repair.
The foundation of the building, which has been deteriorating for years, will be repaired at a cost of $319,000.

The work is scheduled to be complete in late summer, said Public Works Department spokeswoman Debbie Delgado.

Man.. I LOVE that building. It would be great as some sort of museum, Hall of fame or even a restaurant. There isn't a more interesting building from an architectural and location point of view in the entire city. Of course that is just my opinion.

as the article states, fencing is already up around the building...and the article somewhat incorrectly mentions the building's use during Jazz Fest.....it has been used every year since 2009, but won't be this year since the festival is being relocated to the Bay Street area.

and to somewhat answer the question from above, Snyder is one of the top priorities for the first few years of the DIA plan
