Hi, Metro Jacksonville!

I have been reading articles and forum discussions on Metro Jacksonville for years, and have decided to join to be apart of the discussions that pertain to my city. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, and I live in Riverside with my husband. My dad's side of the family has been in the North Florida area since the time of the Civil War. I love Jacksonville and am proud to be a native.

I currently work at Family Support Services as an Adoption Recruitment Specialist, working with children in foster care who are available for adoption. I'm also involved with The District Church, a new church plant that meets in the Riverside House (Junior League building), and was planted by Pastor Boyd Bettis.  I love supporting local businesses and endeavors in our area, and I want to become more informed and involved in local legislation/local government.

  Excited to be here!

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Welcome Aboard. Would you like to kayak Downtown and I'll show you all the restricted zones? It includes 3 miles of Waterfront.

Welcome Peggy. I too am a native and have seen many changes in Jax over the years. I love it dearly, like a friend or relative. I think all it needs is TLC and it will grow and prosper.

Good to have another well-versed set of opinions on this forum.
