Anyone know what is going in next to Metro Diner on US17? Large Dumpster outside, some have rumored a bank, but there is no drive-thru, so I doubt that.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Metro Diner's business model is to deliberately have too little seating for projected number of customers so when people drive by, people will say "LOOK!!! There is lot of people waiting to eat there, it must be a great place."

Their original diner near San Marco just ran out of space. Now they are turning into a chain and still have too little seats for projected capacity.

Which begs the question, are they really that good?  Or do people see a line and automatically think it's a great place?

Metro Diner was a great place when it was one location. I'm sure Applebees was a great place when they were one location. Then they turned themselves into a chain and because Pukelebees.  Hope that does not happen to the Metro Diner.

I find their employee t-shirts most humorous. What does it say? "Where the locals eat."

Places where locals eat usually don't need to advertise it's where locals eat.

just sayin'

^^^That's so true. Hell, look at the lil' chicken wing joint on Myrtle Av near Grothe St. Place doesn't even have a damn sign! Now that's where the locals eat. :)

LOL! And the Fox and Waffle House do the same thing, you have a line standing out the door because there are not enough seats. Really, LOL!!!!
