^ this may not be purely FDOT...the Federal government (transportation legislation) sets budget categories as well

The problem I have with the Greyhound project is the fact that the  taxpayers are spending $6M on a new facility for the exclusive use of Greyhound and Greyhound is leasing the facility for 40 years at $46,000 per year which only comes to $1.84M.  And then Greyhound get to sell their existing bus station in the downtown core and keep the profits.  That's one heck of a deal for Greyhound; not so great for the taxpayers.

The Regional Transportation hub is an extremely poor design eating up a lot of ground space, taking it permanently off the tax rolls; and now, the FDOT has decided to abandon the project for new digs in the State of Florida complex on Davis Street.  There is more than enough space in the current Convention Center to accommodate all the related transportation modes (or use the Convention Center's adjoining parking lots next to the railroad tracks for a centralized Transportation hub.

^Or at least there would be but for the convention center, and our leadership hasn't done anything about that either.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
