The cities that are vying for the 2016 College Football Playoff Championship are Glendale AZ, Jacksonville, New Orleans, and Tampa.

The 2017 College Football Playoff Championship bidding cities are Jacksonville, Miami, New Orleans, San Antonio, San Francisco, and Tampa.

Other cities that are considering bidding on either game are Atlanta, Minneapolis, and Arlington, TX.

Well looks like Jacksonville was passed over for 2016/17. Reading on Twitter Glendale, AZ got 2016 and Tampa, FL got 2017. Disappointing.
Proud supporter of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Maybe I am overstating things. But I think this is a huge blow to the city. The ability to host these games were part of what was sold with the stadium upgrades. Jacksonville was the only city to bid on both and got a goose egg. With new stadiums in Atlanta and San Fran on the horizon, it's only going to get tougher. These games are going to be mini-Super Bowls.

Anytime an event like that is on an annual basis, I wouldn't be inclined to give up all hope. It obviously will take a lil' while to get it, but with the first vying, I can't blatantly say 'We're never gonna get a college championship'. I could see if it was the Summer Olympics or something every four years, that has to be on every other continent.

Outback, Beef O'Brady's bowl attendance drops

Per Tampa Business Journal

Dreary weather may be partially to blame for a drop in attendance at the 2014 Outback Bowl.
About 3,200 fewer people attended this year's Outback Bowl than the 2013 game, according to SportsBusiness Journal. The 2013 Outback Bowl between the University of Michigan and the University of South Carolina was played before a crowd of 54,527. This year's game between Louisiana State University and the University of Iowa had a crowd of 51,296.
LSU won the game 21-14. This was LSU's first game in Tampa in 25 years.
The numbers were down slightly at the 2013 Beef O'Brady's Bowl, as well. About 20,053 saw Ohio University and East Carolina University square off on Dec. 23. There were 21,759 at the 2012 game between Ball State and the University of Central Florida.
Both bowls were in good company. Many of this season's bowl games had a drop in attendance, according to the SBJ.
Elsewhere in Florida on New Year's Day, Jacksonville's Gator Bowl attendance was up significantly from 48,612 in 2013 to 60,712 in 2014. By contrast, Orlando's Capital One Bowl saw a similar drop to the Outback Bowl, falling from 59,712 in 2013 to 56,629 in 2014.

Man, you can't make this stuff up. Jameis Winston shoplifted crab legs from Publix, are you kidding? I see a trend on stupid here, SMH...

^ He's a poor, unpaid college athlete.

HUNGER DROVE HIM TO THOSE CRAB LEGS.

Besides, I smell a setup.

Some jerkish Gator or Cane probably saw him in Publix, recognized him, and covertly plunged the crab legs down his shorts.

Tacachale

Look, he'd just gotten his mandatory free shoes, and those were the only legs he could find to fill them on short notice.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Man, twitter was hilarious with this stuff this morning.  Sounds like a civil citation, pay for the crab legs, and call it a day.

Oh, and community service, apparently.

Jameis did something stupid again, sigh... Out an entire half vs Clemson, the Tigers aren't exactly some patsy direction school, so that game should be interesting.

I have been in a state of football-induced rage since Sunday.

This did not help the situation.

Man am I glad social media wasn't around for the 90's Seminoles.  Or, Canes for that matter.  This situation would pale in comparison.  I bet some of those old players are laughing their ass off.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

Boy, it's like that SNL 'Bowl Madness' skit all over again. Introducing the "Battlefrog Fiesta Bowl". Why not just go on and name it after the old Nintendo game "Battletoads"?
