^Couldn't disagree more. The Public Trust just totally crushed. Walking in to city hall for the 10/23/13 Development Plan Committee workshop of the DIA I was talking with Paul Astleford my hero the new guy with Visit Jacksonville and when we got to the sign in sheet we ran into Scott Wilson who was also there but remained silent during the whole meeting. Councilman Redman is the chair of WATERWAYS! WATERWAYS! WATERWAYS! Our River. We aren't talking about retention ponds.

Secret stuff! I'll bet you a Chopstick Charley's lunch and we'll use Über to get there that in one day after listening to the media round table with Melissa Ross on First Coast Connect 89.9 fm Friday morning at 9 and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that one of the topics will be the port dredging. No worries! As soon as that show is over everyone in the state of Florida should be contacting councilman Redman about the largest FIND dredging project in Duval county since who knows when. We are so LOST!

Secret stuff! There is still an open Silo contest on the new signage that was never before Waterways. Here is a clue. It's next to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a FEDERAL Initiative. It is within the new CRA/DIA in the USA zone.

It was a super meeting. I hope somebody posts about the positive energy that was generated from a lot of active participation. Super props to the Chair Melody Bishop. Tony Robbins and Laura Diettrich the consultants are doing an awesome job. Councilwoman Boyer is a fantastic resource. Aundra Wallace the new CEO of the DIA ( I still feel sorry for the man) But I had the feeling that he was becoming more aware of the issues and more engaging with the open meeting and process. I think that we are going to be starting our own Downtown fishing album together (Inside joke).

DIA - Downtown Inspires Avoidance
OED- Overboard, Everybody,Downtown!  That's the reaction I had after the secret RFP and procedures that were given for the Landing and had people going up to the podium and expressing WTF ( Where's The Freedom).

A positive moment was early in the meeting and the resolution for support for the USS Charles F. Adams at the Shipyard location.
Any news on Hemming Plaza?
More later.

I feel underdressed but I have fieldafm beat. He's wearing jeans. In the crowd, Councilman Love, Councilwoman Boyer, Jack Meeks, Doug Skiles and LaCena's favorite owner is here. Lots of media as well. Max Marbut from the Jax Daily Record, Ron Littlepage and Tim Gibbons from the Times-Union too. Noone just walked into the room as well.

One day out from the most anticipated DIA Board meeting yet. The stick your hand out Christmas party that can be the first wave of legislative taxpayer subsidized handouts. Has anyone seen an agenda? Anyone going? It's at 5pm 1st floor city hall on 12/18/13.

Why is this one more anticipated than all the others?

^Because of the legislative process that is Jacksonville, Florida. Full meeting of the Board of the DIA Downtown Investment Authority just 2 hours out.

Noone

It was a 4 hour meeting that at the end was worth the 180 seconds that Joe Q. Public is allowed to participate and my hat is off to the DIA Board for their engaging attention to our trophy asset that is our St. Johns River that will tell everyone to VISIT JACKSONVILLE!

The issue before the DIA is whether digital billboard advertising should be allowed in the new DIA zone specifically on I95 heading north before entering Downtown.

In my opinion if the vote was taken that day it would have failed. But at the next meeting it may pass.

In two days the Downtown Experience subcommittee meeting of the DIA is at 4pm 1st floor city hall. The Fun committee.

^My mistake. Glad everybody cares. It is Feb. 7 next Friday at 4pm 1st floor city hall.

Anyone want to kayak and fish between now and then under the brand new No Fishing signs that was never before Waterways.

Still have an open contest for the new Waterway signage that was also never before Waterways. I'll treat you to Chopstick Charley's and we'll use Uber. This is all positive.
